Recent visitors to the practice will have seen the BMA poster campaign display and petition which we have been collecting signatures for since May.  Thank you to all those who signed it.  Nationally over 1.3 million people signed the petition, which has now been passed on to Downing Street lobbying the government to reconsider its policy on introducing "polyclinics".

The new centre planned for Burntwood has the potential to become one such clinic.

Whilst we have been invloved in negotiations for an improved health centre for many years there is no guarantee that all local practices will benefit from the new premises or be involved with the planning of any further developments.  It has the potential to close several of the smaller local practices as well as significantly disrupt the larger ones.  Obviously we are concerned by this and are working hard to ensure that patients across Burntwood will benefit from the centre and that existing practices will not be threatened by it.

We will keep posting updates as the plans for the centre become crystalised.
